女将「先日北海道行ってきたんだって？」
Okami: Hey, I heard that you went to Hokkaido recently?
ダマン（ネパール出身）「そうなんです、Royceのパンダチョコ買ってきました。千歳空港は外国人で一杯でしたよ。」
Daman(Nepalese): Yeah,I did! I bought some Royce panda chocolates.
Actually, there were so many foreigners at Chitose Airport.
スタッフ「女将さん、なんとインバウンドが今年は3,000万人超えですって！」
Staff: Okami-sa, did you know? Over 30 million tourists have visited Japan this year!
女将「凄いよね、日本の人気恐るべし！ 10月だけで330万人だよ！！」
Okami: That’s crazy! Japan’s super popular!
Can you believe it? 3.3 million tourists in October alone!
スタッフ「最近は東京・京都以外のローカルにも行かれる方が増えてるようで」
Staff: These days,It seems more tourists are visiting local areas,not just Tokyo or Kyoto.
女将「そういえば、ダマン君は日本のローカルどこ行ったの？」
Okami: By the way,Daman, have you been to any local places in Japan?
ダマン（ネパール出身）「この間、深川、佐原、成田行きました！」
Daman: Yes, I recently visited Fukagawa,Sawara,Narita.
女将「また渋いところ攻めてるねぇ～（笑） どうだった？？」
Okami: Whoa,that’s another cool and unexpected choice! How was it?
ダマン（ネパール出身） 「深川や佐原は江戸時代の風景や歴史文化を見て、成田では弓道場、最後に鰻食べてきて楽しかったですよ！」
Daman: Fukagawa & Sawara had Edo- period scenery & the culture. In Narita, I visited a Kyudo(Japanese archery) place,and ate eel. It was a great experience.
女将「・・・。日本人より日本の観光詳しいね。そのルート気になるから行ってみよ！」
Okami:You know more about Japan than most Japanese People! I’m curious about that route — I’d like to try it myself.
ダマン「インバウンドのお客様に紹介したら、成田空港に行く前に寄ったみたいで楽しかったって、インスタでお礼きましたよ。是非行ってみてください！」

と、女将が外国人のスタッフに日本の古き良き観光ルートを紹介されるという、なんとも結唯らしい光景ではございましたが、外国人のお客様は本当によく勉強されてます。
& Okami were sharing nostalgic Japanese travel routes with foreign staffーbut our inbound guests are truly well-informed and eager to learn.
結唯にいらっしゃる外国人の方々は、既に何度か日本へいらしており、有名観光地巡りは数年前に落ち着き、よりローカルなエリアを訪れ、歴史や文化を深堀りされてらっしゃる方々が多く見受けられます。
Many of the inbound guests who visit Yui Have already been to Japan several times,they have moved past the famous spots and now they’re exploring more local areas,diving deeper into Japan’s history & culture.
夕食時にお話ししてると、日本人として自国の事をもっとしっかり勉強しなくては！と思う事も本当に多くなりました。
Talking with them during dinner often reminds me ,as a Japanese person ,I really need to learn more about my own country.

【深川江戸資料館】

江東区にある江戸資料館です。
最寄りは都営大江戸線・東京メトロ半蔵線「清澄白河駅」より３分、車だと首都高速９号深川線の木場ICより5分ほどです。羽田空港から20分、成田からも1時間かからず到着するので、インバウンドに人気なのもわかりますね。周辺は下町風情が残り、アサリやネギを煮込んだ漁師料理の深川めしも有名です。
The area has a cool old-town vibe around there, and it’s known for Fukagawa-meshi—
clam and the green onions cooked together,super good!
以前、夕食の最後に深川めしを提供していた事もありましたが、日本人の方も大変喜んでいたのを思い出します。醤油・みりん・酒の香りは、世界中の方にヒットする香りに直結しますね。既に町中はランチタイムに向け、アサリを煮込むいい匂いで誘われます。
We used to serve Fukagawa-meshi at the end of dinner, and even Japanese guests loved it.The aroma of soy sauce,mirin,and sake really hits the spot for people from all over.By lunch time,the whole neighborhood smells like simmering clams–so tempting.
中に入ってビックリ！ 近くの小学生の校外学習の人数と同じぐらい、インバウンドの方が沢山。展示もとても凝っており、ボランティアのガイドの方もいらして、とても興味深いお話を聞くことができます。
What a surprise when I went in! There were many inbound visitors as local kids on a field trip.The exhibits are really well done, and the volunteer guides share some super interesting stories.
「玄関のあがりが高いですねぇ～」と話をしてたら、ガイドさんが「江戸時代の方々は草履で移動していたので、家にあがる前に足を洗ってたんですよ。そのため腰かけるにちょうど
いい高さになってるんですね。」と横からさりげなく補足を。
We are like ,”Whoa,the step into the house is pretty high!”
Then the guide casually added,”People in the Edo period wore straw sandals, so they used to wash their feet before going in.That’s why the step’s perfect height to sit on.”
畳のお部屋に箱火鉢、まだ午前中なのに熱燗にスルメを勝手に想像してます。
近くで見ていた外人さんが真似をして正座を。その数秒後にバランスを失ってひっくりかえっていたのには、周囲の皆さんで大笑いしてしまいました。
In the tatami room with a box -shaped hibachi,and even though it was still morning , I totally started imagining hot sake and dried squid.Then I saw foreign visitor nearby tried sitting in seiza…….lost balance and fell over!Everyone around couldn’t stop laughing.
ふと路地に入ると、急に新選組でも出てきそうな雰囲気です。NHK大河を連続で観ていた頃を思い出す、非常に作りこまれた世界観を堪能できます。どこで買ってきたのか、刀をさして嬉しそうに歩く外人さんもいらして、日本を堪能してるなぁ～とビックリ！
Turned into the side alley and suddenly felt like the Shinsengumi might show up!
It reminded me of when I used to watch NHK’s samurai dramas- everything’s so well done .
I even saw a tourist walking around happily with a toy sword—really enjoying Japan!
昼間から夕暮れまで照明が1hぐらいでかわり、BGMも流れると本当に江戸の町に舞い降りたようです。人がいない一瞬を待つのが大変なぐらい、大賑わいの川面でした。
The light changes from day to night every hour,and with the background music,it really feels like you’ve stepped into old Edo.The riverside area was packed —It was hard to even catch the moment without people in the way!
江戸の川面と言えば、次に訪れた佐原。
Speaking of Edo-style riversides-next stop was Sawara.

2022年5月20日公開の、『大河への道』のロケ地にもなりましたが、東京からも近く
小江戸の雰囲気抜群な佐原は、撮影の多い街としても有名です。
Sawara was even used as a filming spot for”Taiga e no MIchi” released in may 2022.
It’s super close to Tokyo and Has that perfect “little Edo” vibe – no wonder it’s a popular spot for shooting movies.
お屋敷の間の水路、そのまま撮影スタジオになりそうな街並みは、まだ観光バスが着く前だったこともあり、静かに散策出来ました。
The canals between the houses felt like a movie set-super quiet before tour buses showed up.
佐原と言えば、日本地図を完成させた伊能忠敬（Ino Tadataka）は外せません。
測量の道具にも独自に改良を加え、彎窠羅針 （わんかんしらん）」、 「半円方位盤」（はんえんほういばん）を駆使して、当時としては画期的な日本地図を作り上げました。
「伊能図」をもとに製作され幕府に上呈された『大日本沿海輿地全図』（だいにほんえんかいよちぜんず）の精度は、想像を超えた出来でした。
And of course , Sawara =Ino Tadataka- the guy who mapped japan with crazy accuracy using his own tools he modified himself.Totally impressive!

少し早いお昼を食べようとウナギ屋さんを探し始めた頃には、続々と観光の皆さんが到着され、一気に人・人・人になりました。恐るべしインバウンドパワー！
Just when we started looking for an early lunch spot for some eel,tourists arrived one after another – it suddenly became crowded everywhere.
Inbound power – seriously unstoppable!.

皆さんが「ランチどこで食べようか？！」と探し始めた頃、我々は次の目的地に向かいます。
観光地のランチタイムは、オフィス街同様に難民になりかねない人・人ですので、私はいつもの通りランチスタートと同時にお店に入り、ピーク前に移動、これで人混みをすり抜けてます。宿泊業で繁忙期に出かけない（出かけられない？！）という癖が、こんなところで活かされてます(笑)。While everyone was hunting for lunch,we were already off to the next stop.Lunch time at a tourist spot is like rush hour in an office- crowded everywhere!So I did what I always do: go in as soon as lunch starts ,get ahead of the crowd,and move on before it gets crazy. Guess”never travel during peak season” habit from working in hospitality finally paid off,(thanks hospitality life) Haa.
最後に訪れたのが、インバウンドの方々が多数ご利用される成田空港のお膝元、成田山新勝寺とその参道です。

まずは節分会（せつぶんえ）で有名な大本堂に、そして奥へ奥へと平和大塔を目指します。ＴＶでも節分になると必ず芸能人の方々が映る、有名な大きな階段前で心を清め、お参りさせていただきました。
First,we visited the main hall -famous for the Setsubun festival.You’ve probably seen that staircase on TV with all the celebs. Took a breath ,prayed,then headed up toward the Peace Pagoda.
到着したのが14時過ぎでしたので、観光客のピークは少し落ち着いていたようです。
参道のお店の人いわく、10〜14時のランチ時は凄い人ですよ！とのこと。
ぜひピークを避けて訪れてみてください。
We got there around 2pm,so the crowd had calmed down.Local said it gets crazy between 10am to 2pm during lunch.So yeah,go off-peak if you can!
そして、参道に入るとウナギの何とも言えない香ばしい香りに誘われますが、佐原で頂いてきたので、ここは団子にしておきます（結局食べるんかい！）。
As soon as you hit the street, that amazing grilled eel smell pulls you in…But we already had eel in Sawara,so.. went with some dango instead.”Still ended up eating ,huh!”
参道を散策して見つけたのが半弓道場（HANKYU DOJO)。

おぉ～これですね、ダマン君が言っていたのは！
“Ah,this is the place Mr.Daman mentioned!”
弓の構え方を大変丁寧にご指導いただき、矢をはなつ準備が整いました。
初めての体験ですが、笑ってしまうほど翌日腕が筋肉痛になります！
戦国武将が連続して矢をはなってましたが、どれだけ腕力あるの？！と思わず唸ってしまいました。
They showed us how to hold the bow really carefully,and soon I was ready to shoot.Tried it for the first time–my arms were so sore the next day! Made me seriously wonder how those samurai kept firing arrows nonstop..they must have been crazy strong !
最初の数本は上やら下やら右やら左やら、、、と戦国時代でしたら敵味方関係なく当ててしまっているぐらいでしたが、最後のほうは段々と的を得てきてスパっと真ん中に。これやみつきになる気持ちよさです！！
ついつい追加で矢を借りたくなってしまいました。
The first few arrows were flying all over–up,down,left,right.If this were the Sengoku era,I’d hit both sides.But towards the end ,I started hitting the target,and bam-nailed the center!
Super satisfying…I totally get why people get hooked on this!
横のアジアからお越しのインバンドのカップル、10本中6本ぐらい真ん中にスパっと。
なんでそんなにうまいの？！と思ったら、１週間前にも来て相当矢をはなっていたそうです（笑） やみつきになり、帰国前にまた寄ったとのこと。
日本人も、外国人もみんなで楽しめてお薦めですよ。
Next to me was an inbound couple from asia– nailed 6 out of 10 right in the center! I was like,”wait,how are you so good?!”
Turns out they came a week earlier and shot a bunch then too–totally hooked!
It’s a great experience for both locals and visitors.totally recommend it!
最後の弓を放つ頃には、時間も16時ぐらい。
朝から動いてちょうど良いショートトリップになりました。
By the time I shot the last arrow,it was around 4om.
We’d been out since morning –perfect little day trip!
帰りは東京湾アクアラインの海ほたるに寄り、横浜の夜景を見ながら湯河原に戻り
ましたが、ドライブルートとしてもお薦めです。
On the way back,we stopped by Umihotaru on the Tokyo Bay Aqua-Line,caught some gorgeous night views of Yokohama,and headed back to Yugawara.
結唯で泊まった翌日、日本の歴史探訪をされてはいかがでしょうか？
